Surgical Procedures

The decision to seek and have medical treatment, however major or minor, can be a daunting task.
Our goal is to eliminate the stress by providing current information and expert consultation in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.

Breast Augmentation

Breast implant surgery, also known as breast augmentation mammoplasty is a surgery that uses an implant filled with saline or silicone to reshape and enhance your own natural breasts. Breast augmentation is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures performed today. Dr. Wong places most breast implants under the muscle. Breasts that are asymmetric (uneven), small or have lost their volume and shape can benefit from surgical intervention. Breasts are brought to a more even and attractive appearance.

There are various options available for the type and volume of implant used during the procedure. During your initial consultation, Dr. Wong will review your medical history, examine you and discuss options that are appropriate for your individual situation.

Breast Augmentation with Autologous Fat

This procedure involves removing fat from another area of your body using liposuction and transferring that fat to the breast area. This procedure is best for individuals that desire a small amount of added volume.

Breast Lift

Breast lift surgery is performed using an FDA approved saline or silicone breast implant, your own fat or your own individual breast tissue. Breast lift surgery is performed on breasts that have sagging or drooping appearance. Areolar (the area around the nipple) enlargement may be reduced during surgery. Breast lift surgery involves lifting the tissue and reshaping the breast to a contour that is more flattering.

Scars with breast lift surgery may be around the nipple or under the nipple. Implants may or may not be necessary depending on the amount of breast tissue present, the desired size and individual body shape. Fat grafting to the breast may be a preferred option. Dr. Wong will discuss the best method and options for your individual needs during your consultation and evaluation.

Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast reduction surgery is performed on breasts that are overly large and heavy. Very large breasts can cause issues like: back pain, bra strap marks on the skin, rashes under the breast skin and anxiety over breast size. Breast reduction includes the removal of breast tissue and skin, and the areola and nipples may be reduced if needed. Dr. Wong performs breast reduction surgery at the hospital.

Implant Removal

Breast implant surgery is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed today. Some women may choose to have their breast implants removed for various reasons. Implant removal surgery may involve a lift of the breast tissue and skin removal and some patients may desire an implant replacement. Dr. Wong can discuss your treatment plan during your consultation.

Body Surgical Procedures

Weight loss

Tummy Tuck

Tummy tucks, or abdominoplasty involves the removal of tissue and fat from the abdominal area and tightening of the abdominal muscles. This surgery may be combined with liposuction to give your body a smoother and flatter contour in the area. Stretch marks in the abdominal area may be reduced as well. Tummy tuck procedures are performed under general anesthesia.

The initial consultation will include evaluation of your medical history, a physical exam and discussion of appropriate procedures for your individual issues. This surgery may require more downtime. Tummy tuck procedures are recommended on women who no longer desire childbearing.

Liposuction

Liposuction is often referred to as “lipo.” This surgical procedure involves the removal of excess fat from one or more areas. Liposuction may be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as tummy tucks, brachioplasty (arm lift), breast reduction and fat transfers.

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. Liposuction permanently removes fat in the area treated, but does not remove excess skin or cellulite. Compression garments are worn for 2-6 weeks after treatment.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

This is a procedure that involves removal of the excess area under the upper portion of the arm. This area is also referred to as “bat wings” and does not improve with normal exercise. An incision is made on the underside of the arms and the excess skin and fat are removed.

Mommy Makeover

This procedure best describes a combination of procedures that can vary to help someone get there pre-pregnancy body back. The mommy makeover often combines breast implant surgery along with a tummy tuck and liposuction.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Wong will review your medical history and evaluate your problem areas. A care plan and treatment options are discussed during your consultation. These procedures are performed under general anesthesia.

Brow Lift

Brow lift surgery helps to correct uneven brows from skin laxity and drooping as well as opening up the eyes to give a more relaxed appearance. This procedure can be performed alone or in conjunction with a facelift. A brow lift helps to soften harsh lines across the forehead and get excess skin off of the upper eyelids if it’s related to drooping skin of the forehead.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery is also referred to as blepharoplasty. This procedure may be done to the top or bottom eyelids, or both. Some cases may require the removal of the fat under the eyes. The incisions are generally small and hidden within the lash line or natural fold of the upper eyes.

Face Lift

Rhytidectomy procedures are often referred to as face lift procedures. This is often most appropriate for individuals in their 40s, 50s and 60s, however, healthy individuals outside of that age range may be good candidates for this procedure. Facial aging is caused by a number of factors like aging skin, bony changes and fat loss in the face. Facelifts help to improve the sagging skin and volume depletion.

Facelifts may be done in conjunction with a fat transfer and neck lift. The type of facelift required differs from individual to individual. The procedure will not stop the aging process, but can help you achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job helps to correct genetic, bony or traumatic abnormalities. Rhinoplasty may involve removing excess skin and cartilage, breaking of the nasal bones and is performed with an incision inside the nose or outside of the nose.

Rhinoplasty procedures are performed under general anesthesia. Revision rhinoplasty (repeated nose job to revise or correct a previous problem) may require more reconstructive work and involve more risks. Dr. Wong has extensive craniofacial surgery experience and can discuss your options during the consultative process.

Neck Lift

Neck lifts are also used in conjunction with face lifts to repair the muscle bands that cause us to have an aged appearance in our neck. This may be done alone or with other procedures. Neck lifts are often done along with lower face lifts to give you the most longevity out of your procedure. Lines and extra skin can be significantly improved, but may not completely disappear.

Fat Transfer to the Face

Fat transfers are surgical procedures that help to replenish or enhance volume in the facial fat compartments or other areas like the lip. Fat transfers require liposuction from another area on your body and the injection or transfer of that fat to the desired area.

Fat transfers can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures. The area is often more swollen for a couple of weeks. Fat transfers may require 2 or more treatments to achieve the most desirable results. Fat cells contain stem cells and there is improvement in the skin quality when autologous fat (your own) is used for volumization.
